What’s Stopping YOU?

7 Habits Stopping You From Achieving Lifestyle Success

Whether you care to admit it or not we are creatures of habit. If you’re not in the habit of doing something, then you’re in the habit of not doing something (read that again). Why not be intentional about the habits you keep? Choose higher habits that serve the lifestyle you desire. Before you do that, work on eliminating these 7 habits stopping you from achieving lifestyle success.

1. MAKING EXCUSES INSTEAD OF MAKING MOVES

The number one habit that will hold you back is making excuses. Making excuses about why you can't do this or can't try is preventing you from lifestyle success. Stop making excuses, accept responsibility and start moving forward toward creating the life you want.

2. TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING ALONE

Self-reliance is a wonderful trait. It is important to be able to stand on your own two feet. That said, you don't have to do everything alone. If you need help, ask for it! Alternatively, consider delegating some of your daily tasks if you are getting stuck in the overwhelm of life?

3. NOT REMEMBERING WHY YOU STARTED

Our why is our motivation. If you remember all the reasons why you started a certain journey or goal, you will be far less likely to quit. Achieving success is hard, and if you feel your motivation waning, take some time to remember why you started in the first place. Your purpose is so much bigger than just you!

4. FOCUSING ON THINGS YOU CAN’T CONTROL

Life is easier when we focus on things we CAN control. You have direct control of many things in your life, but you need to accept that there are many things you can't control. It's important to focus on things you can control; otherwise, you are just wasting energy on things you can't change.

5. WORRYING ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK

The approval of other people is not going to pay your bills! Stop seeking validation from other people. Wanting to please your immediate family is one thing, but worrying about what Susie Q thinks about your career, relationship, or even social activities is a losing battle. Do the things that make you happy. Live up to your core values, not someone else's.

6. BEING TOO HARD ON YOURSELF

Things are hard enough, treat yourself kindly. Working yourself to absolute exhaustion isn't the power move you think it is. Of course, at times, we all have to grind. However, we also have to make time for self-care. You need to treat yourself as kindly as you'd treat your bestie. Take breaks when you need them. Do something just for you. Embrace a positive work-life balance.

7. STAYING WITHIN YOUR COMFORT ZONE

The lifestyle success you want is within your reach, just not within your comfort zone. If you aren't willing to step out of your comfort zone, you likely won't achieve the lifestyle success you want. True lifestyle success almost always includes taking risks, facing fears, and sometimes even leaps of blind faith. Things are going to get uncomfortable, so you better be prepared. Good news is God’s got you, trust Him!
